Blog entries on gearbox tunnel repair. The gearbox and driveline tunnel on any given E-type body shell is a real toss-up – sometimes it’s perfect, sometimes it’s rusted badly in the lower sections, and sometimes, it’s just GONE – having been hacked out by a V-8 conversion in the past. Whatever the problem, we’ve fixed it here – and have patterned and fabricated EVERY SINGLE panel of the tunnel – from the firewall to the rear bulkhead – and ALL are available in our online store!

New E-Type Driveshaft and Transmission Tunnel

The next order of business for this shell is to close in the box sections where we have hidden the subframe rails, and also replace the crusty driveshaft tunnel and transmission sides with new pieces formed in our fabrication shop.
