We did that because  this body shell had roof damage, and the customer wanted a period  Webasto sunroof.  We now have another body shell for this car - also a  Series 2 FHC - with a straight roof.  Plus, this car is already  disassembled, so you won&#39;t have to pay for that work, which is no small  task!<\/p><\/div>\n<p>This car was purchased as a running project car.\u00a0 The body was very  rough, but we did use it for another project.\u00a0 We have since replaced  the body, so that the car is complete again, but is now apart and a  TOTAL project.<\/p>\n<p>So &#8211; the running gear that you see in these photos has all been  removed from this yellow body, and the suspension and engine have been  re-attached to another Series 2 coupe body.\u00a0 The body that will be  supplied with the car also needs extensive metalwork, and can be  supplied with as many panels as you like and some additional shell  pieces to help you rebuild the body in the rougher areas &#8211; namely the  forward bulkhead &#8211; I will throw in TWO extra forward bulkhead  sections&#8230;\u00a0 We currently have a MAJOR space issue, and this project  needs to find a good home, so call if you are interested &#8211; it&#8217;s  available QUITE reasonably!<\/p>\n<p>Built in November of 1969, this Series 2 coupe represents the  ultimate development of the 6-cylinder E-Type 2-seat coupe as a Grand  Touring car.\u00a0 By this point, all of the kinks were worked out of the  E-Type&#8217;s design and assembly &#8211; for example, the Series 2 braking system  is excellent and often retro-fitted to earlier E-Types.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_4035\" style=\"width: 650px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a rel=\"attachment wp-att-4035\" href=\"http:\/\/www.monocoque-metalworks.com\/main\/e-type-projects-for-sale-wanted\/dsc_0386-10\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-4035\" class=\"size-large wp-image-4035\" title=\"DSC_0386\" src=\"http:\/\/www.monocoque-metalworks.com\/main\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/DSC_0386-1024x680.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"425\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.monocoque-metalworks.com\/main\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/DSC_0386-1024x680.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.monocoque-metalworks.com\/main\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/DSC_0386-150x99.jpg 150w, https:\/\/www.monocoque-metalworks.com\/main\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/DSC_0386-300x199.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/a> <p id=\"caption-attachment-4035\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The gauges and switches are all in good condition, and we salvaged the complete wiring harness from this car without cutting - use some or all of it for re-assembly - that&#39;s up to you, but it&#39;s ALL there!<\/p><\/div>\n<p>This is a completely numbers matching project &#8211; chassis, body,  engine, and transmission all match the original data plate, the  windshield and door striker chassis number tags are present, and the car  has a clear US title.\u00a0 This was originally a 4-speed, air-conditioned  car with manual rack and pinion steering, with a primrose yellow  exterior and black interior, but can be finished in any color  combination and mechanical configuration that you desire.<\/p>\n<p>This is a complete car &#8211; there are buckets and boxes FULL of the    correct Rubery Owen bolts, Cheney Hose clamps, and all the little    fittings and bits.\u00a0 There are a few items missing, but they are few and   far between and we can help you source them.<\/p>\n<p>The car is currently  assembled as a roller, and comes with two pallets  FULL of boxes of  parts.\u00a0 If you would like to take on this project, it is PICK UP ONLY &#8211;  it&#8217;s too much of a basket case at the moment to pack up and ship.\u00a0 Show up here with a truck and trailer, and we&#8217;ll pull down the pallets and go through them as we load them up!<\/p>\n<p>This E-Type has every factory option available EXCEPT power steering,   but&#8230; we also have a complete power steering setup from another  Series 2  coupe that it can be built with if desired.<\/p>\n<p>The car currently has no bonnet &#8211; BUT &#8211; we can include restorable  Series 2 bonnet panels &#8211; You would probably want to rebuild  the engine as part of a complete restoration, but knowing that it runs  now ensures that there are not going to be any expensive surprises  during the rebuild... The FRONT bulkhead is a mess, so I am including these two forward bulkheads to help you repair that area of this shell.
