See what I mean?&#8230;  After all of the work that I had seen the customer put into the car over the past year, I just couldn&#8217;t allow this to go back on the car on my watch! Whenever they get stripped in certain ways &#8211; wire wheels, etc., you see this. You can just make out a crease that has been hammered out in the past in the foreground.  YIKES! The trusty dent-puller was used in the past to pull out some typical bumper creases. The shrinker leaves the metal burnished and polished almost as smooth as a mirror &#8211; and hardens the surface as well.  All of that adds up to possible adhesion issues, and so I use a disc sander with fine grit to scuff that whole burnished later off.  You have to be careful &#8211; not too much heat, and just barely remove the polished surface &#8211; don&#8217;t shape or smooth in this step &#8211; get that all done before you get here or it will be almost impossible to hold back on fine tuning the surface with the sander!\n\t\t\t\t<\/dd><\/dl><br style=\"clear: both\" \/><dl class='gallery-item'>\n\t\t\t<dt class='gallery-icon landscape'>\n\t\t\t\t<a href='https:\/\/www.monocoque-metalworks.com\/main\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/DSC_05911.jpg'><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"640\" height=\"425\" src=\"https:\/\/www.monocoque-metalworks.com\/main\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/DSC_05911-1024x680.jpg\" class=\"attachment-large size-large\" alt=\"\" aria-describedby=\"gallery-1-6565\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.monocoque-metalworks.com\/main\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/DSC_05911-1024x680.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.monocoque-metalworks.com\/main\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/DSC_05911-150x99.jpg 150w, https:\/\/www.monocoque-metalworks.com\/main\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/DSC_05911-300x199.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/a>\n\t\t\t<\/dt>\n\t\t\t\t<dd class='wp-caption-text gallery-caption' id='gallery-1-6565'>\n\t\t\t\tOut in the sun, after also scuffing with a Scotch-Brite pad.
