Well, work finally started on the finishing off of the new shop this week…\u00a0 My job was to get enough space cleared out so the builders could work.<\/p>\n
Let me tell you, that was NO SMALL TASK!\u00a0 We built the building in the first place with the idea that it would eventually be the new shop, but the immediate need was storage space.\u00a0 And so over the past two years, it has been packed to the rafters with E-Type shells, bonnets, and other sheetmetal.\u00a0 And on top of that, I went on some type of “E-Type buying spree” last year – so there are engines and transmissions and whole cars too – AAAGGGHHHH!<\/p>\n
I could finish the building off myself – my father was a cabinet maker and general contractor growing up, and myself and all of my friends were slave labor for the company – but we learned alot!\u00a0 Now, he restores antique wood boats – he’s the wood guy and I’m the metal guy I guess…\u00a0 But who has the time!?!\u00a0 I am GROSSLY behind on the shell restoration schedule as it is, and this just needs to get done, so I called the contractor who built the building and we’re on our way!<\/p>\n
We are installing a central heating and AC system for both stories, and so the bonnet shelf had to be cleared to run ducts, insulate, and finish off the walls.\u00a0 And there was just NOWHERE to put them – and outside is not an option, so like the title says, I had to take drastic measures…<\/p>\n
