despite the fact that the car was from Texas, USA!<\/p>\n<p>What happens very often on E-Type Coupes and 2+2 models is that the small drain hole in the bottom center of this drip channel get clogged with dirt, leaves, etc. &#8211; and then water lays in the channel, and once the rust sets in, it accellerates quickly.\u00a0 The only way to get an off-the-shelf version of this channel from England is to purchase a rear lower tonneau patch panel, and that is an expensive proposition to simply cut the drip channel off &#8211; and even then, it is very little of the actual channel.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_368\" style=\"width: 310px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a rel=\"attachment wp-att-368\" href=\"http:\/\/www.monocoque-metalworks.com\/main\/2011\/02\/1974-v-12-coupe-rear-hatch-drip-channel\/bottom\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-368\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-368\" title=\"Bottom\" src=\"http:\/\/www.monocoque-metalworks.com\/main\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/Bottom-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.monocoque-metalworks.com\/main\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/Bottom-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.monocoque-metalworks.com\/main\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/Bottom-150x112.jpg 150w, https:\/\/www.monocoque-metalworks.com\/main\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/Bottom-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.monocoque-metalworks.com\/main\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/Bottom.jpg 2048w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-368\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Wow - that&#39;s some pretty bad corrosion!<\/p><\/div>\n<p>This car probably has the worst drip channel I have ever seen.\u00a0 When we initially discuissed the project over e-mail, I thought he needed the bottom section, as is usually the case.\u00a0 So I made the piece to cover the entire bottom and the lower corners.\u00a0 This piece took ALOT of time!\u00a0 There are 3 dimensions in this world &#8211; this piece seems to bend in 4&#8230;\u00a0 The end result was very rewarding and I was excited to show the customer their new piece.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_358\" style=\"width: 310px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a rel=\"attachment wp-att-358\" href=\"http:\/\/www.monocoque-metalworks.com\/main\/2011\/02\/1974-v-12-coupe-rear-hatch-drip-channel\/drip-02\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-358\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-358\" title=\"drip-02\" src=\"http:\/\/www.monocoque-metalworks.com\/main\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/drip-02-300x199.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"199\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.monocoque-metalworks.com\/main\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/drip-02-300x199.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.monocoque-metalworks.com\/main\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/drip-02-150x99.jpg 150w, https:\/\/www.monocoque-metalworks.com\/main\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/drip-02.jpg 500w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-358\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The first piece I formed was designed to cover the area I usually see rusted away - the bottom and lower corners.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Imagine my surprise when they replied, &#8220;That looks fantastic, Chuck!\u00a0 But, it&#8217;s not enough&#8230;&#8221; This was a challenging, but in the end, fun piece!
