Overall, the car is in excellent condition, and a great start for this fun project!<\/p><\/div>\n<div id=\"attachment_326\" style=\"width: 310px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a rel=\"attachment wp-att-326\" href=\"http:\/\/www.monocoque-metalworks.com\/main\/2011\/02\/project-overview-3\/webasto-red\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-326\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-326\" title=\"Webasto-red\" src=\"http:\/\/www.monocoque-metalworks.com\/main\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/Webasto-red-300x201.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"201\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.monocoque-metalworks.com\/main\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/Webasto-red-300x201.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.monocoque-metalworks.com\/main\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/Webasto-red-150x100.jpg 150w, https:\/\/www.monocoque-metalworks.com\/main\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/Webasto-red.jpg 500w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-326\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Here is a decent overhead shot of a Series 1 Coupe with a Webasto roof in the open position.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>I find the Webasto roof to be a very cool option for this car.\u00a0 They are a &#8220;period&#8221; item, don&#8217;t really detract from the lines of the car at all when closed, and when open, it literally peels the entire roof back!\u00a0 I&#8217;ve included a few photos in this post of other E-Type coupes and 2+2&#8217;s with this option so you can get a feel for how this will look when completed.<\/p>\n<p>Cutting the roof for this top is not for the faint of heart!\u00a0 It will need to be cut VERY precisely &#8211; properly positioned front to rear, and centered from side to side, with a turned-down edge formed into it.\u00a0 This is basically a one-shot-deal, and it&#8217;s best left to a shop like ours with the right tools and experience (and, having a spare, straight 2+2 roof on the shelf helps in the courage department!)\u00a0 We&#8217;ll make sure the job is done perfectly.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_327\" style=\"width: 310px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a rel=\"attachment wp-att-327\" href=\"http:\/\/www.monocoque-metalworks.com\/main\/2011\/02\/project-overview-3\/webasto-green\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-327\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-327\" title=\"webasto-green\" src=\"http:\/\/www.monocoque-metalworks.com\/main\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/webasto-green-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.monocoque-metalworks.com\/main\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/webasto-green-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.monocoque-metalworks.com\/main\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/webasto-green-150x112.jpg 150w, https:\/\/www.monocoque-metalworks.com\/main\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/webasto-green.jpg 360w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-327\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Here is another shot - this time it&#39;s a Series 1 2+2 - bascially exactly what we&#39;re dealing with. Look closely at this photo and notice just how much light is on the inside of the car - even the back seat is bathed in full sunlight!<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Aside from that, we&#8217;ll repair some rust damage in the floors, and do a better job at smoothing out some dents that have suffered at the hands of a dent-puller in the past.\u00a0 Finally, we&#8217;ll strip the bonnet, find out what lurks beneath, and smooth and past sins hidden under the filler we can already see&#8230;<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_352\" style=\"width: 650px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a rel=\"attachment wp-att-352\" href=\"http:\/\/www.monocoque-metalworks.com\/main\/2011\/02\/project-overview-3\/webasto-blue-2\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-352\" class=\"size-full wp-image-352\" title=\"Webasto-blue\" src=\"http:\/\/www.monocoque-metalworks.com\/main\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/Webasto-blue1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"401\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.monocoque-metalworks.com\/main\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/Webasto-blue1.jpg 640w, https:\/\/www.monocoque-metalworks.com\/main\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/Webasto-blue1-150x93.jpg 150w, https:\/\/www.monocoque-metalworks.com\/main\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/Webasto-blue1-300x187.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-352\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">I&#39;m not sure if this car is destined to be refinished in its original light blue or not.
