{"id":2902,"date":"2012-04-22T18:08:42","date_gmt":"2012-04-22T22:08:42","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.monocoque-metalworks.com\/main\/?p=2902"},"modified":"2015-02-18T13:17:29","modified_gmt":"2015-02-18T18:17:29","slug":"series-3-e-type-bonnet-restoration-part-4-inner-panels","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.monocoque-metalworks.com\/main\/2012\/04\/series-3-e-type-bonnet-restoration-part-4-inner-panels\/","title":{"rendered":"Series 3 E-Type Bonnet Restoration \u2013 Part 4 \u2013 Inner Panels"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>All E-Type bonnets are comprised of:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>4 large outer panels &#8211; center section, wings, and lower valance<\/li>\n<li>2 large inner panels &#8211; RH and LH inner valances (sometimes called air tubes&#8230;)<\/li>\n<li>5 smaller inner panels &#8211; RH and LH rear mudshields, RH and LH headlamp diaphragms, and some form of lower mouth tray or in this case, scoop<\/li>\n<li>a complete set of flanges<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>When we restore bonnets here, we systematically restore or fabricate panels until we have a complete kit of the items above that can then be assembled into a complete bonnet.\u00a0 Our next step for this particular bonnet was the smaller inner panels &#8211; of which we had none in stock.<\/p>\n<p>So, it was literally &#8220;back to the drawing board&#8221;, and we patterned and fabricated all of the internal panels for V-12 E-Type bonnets &#8211; now available in our website and eBay stores.<\/p>\n<div id='gallery-1' class='gallery galleryid-2902 gallery-columns-1 gallery-size-large'><dl class='gallery-item'>\n\t\t\t<dt class='gallery-icon landscape'>\n\t\t\t\t<a href='https:\/\/www.monocoque-metalworks.com\/main\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/04\/DSC_0142.jpg'><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"640\" height=\"425\" src=\"https:\/\/www.monocoque-metalworks.com\/main\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/04\/DSC_0142-1024x680.jpg\" class=\"attachment-large size-large\" alt=\"\" aria-describedby=\"gallery-1-2908\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.monocoque-metalworks.com\/main\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/04\/DSC_0142-1024x680.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.monocoque-metalworks.com\/main\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/04\/DSC_0142-150x99.jpg 150w, https:\/\/www.monocoque-metalworks.com\/main\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/04\/DSC_0142-300x199.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/a>\n\t\t\t<\/dt>\n\t\t\t\t<dd class='wp-caption-text gallery-caption' id='gallery-1-2908'>\n\t\t\t\tHere are the inner panels that came out of the donor bonnet that provided the center section and lower valance for this project.
