We’re busy as usual, so I am going to have to skip the captions on this blog, but here are some photos of a Series 2 lower valance that we recently restored.<\/p>\n

This is part of a Series 2 bonnet that we are building for a customer from original parts on our shelves.\u00a0 This particular piece came in as part of an “extra” bonnet that was brought in with another bonnet that was restored a few years ago.\u00a0 I had considered it to be a rough piece, but upon closer inspection, it turned out to be a good restoration candidate.<\/p>\n

We stripped heavy paint and undercoating from the piece, removed the original support panel, and sandblasted the skin.\u00a0 Next, we cut out and replaced a particularly bad section, and then installed one of our new lower valance support members.<\/p>\n

The finished piece turned out GREAT, and fits MUCH better than the poorly shaped reproductions currently available.<\/p>\n
