This is a factory air-conditioned car, with manual rack-and-pinion steering. As a late Series 2 coupe, it is the ultimate refinement of the 6-cylinder E-Type, incorporating a full-synchro gearbox, a racing-quality braking system, improved engine cooling, and more! It also includes refinements such as air-conditioning, comfortable seats, and inner and outer armrests. Finally, this E-Type even incorporates safety improvements like a collapsible steering column, shoulder seat belts, and headrests! By the time this E-Type was built in the Fall of 1970, ALL of the kinks had been ironed out, and these cars are a pleasure to drive!

Solid and Straight Body and Bonnet! – The condition of the monocoque body shell and bonnet is QUITE good – and it has never been in a major accident. The body shell has been stripped to bare metal, and you are seeing it in bare metal in the photos at the link above – there is NOTHING to hide! One front floor has been replaced, and a new boot floor has been installed. There is light surface rust on the interior panels, etc., and some sloppy rustproofing, plus the outside was sprayed in a cheap primer about 25 years ago. The car has been indoors all of that time, but this all needs to come off… SO – I would recommend a light blasting back to bare metal and re-coating with a good 2-part epoxy primer.

The remaining metalwork to be done looks to be limited to the repair of the lower portion of the LH inner sill, and replacement of both outer sills. The doors and rear hatch door are EXCELLENT – they are straight and rust free! The bonnet needs a new lower valance (most E-Types do…), but after that, it is an easy restoration, with only a few minor dents in the nose of the center section, and EXCELLENT wings. Overall, this is a VERY easy body restoration as E-types go –
