Hey Chuck, what about the METALWORK!?!

That’s probably what you are all saying and thinking – do I even work out in the shop anymore?…

Well, the answer is a definitive, “YES – ALOT!” But unfortunately I seemed to have picked up a REALLY bad habit in the past few months of just going out there and going to town, and not taking ANY pictures. Some of it is due to the fact that we are just swamped lately – and I just want to get out there and move the ball forard and not stop to take photos.

Another reason is that I feel like all of the repairs we do here have been blogged already, and even though I SHOULD, I don’t blog every wing that gets restored, etc.

Another reason is that I seem to be bouncing around lately and moving alot of things forward, but not FINISHING things, and so the blog entries are backed up until you can see the repair start-to-finish in one blog…

Finally, there’s the whole “old shop, new shop” issue… It’s so ridiculous now that I don’t even like talking about it… We are SUPPOSED to be working downstairs in this building – the one with 3 garage doors and the dormers upstairs, but we are just so busy that I can’t take the time to stop working on Jags and finish the interior of the building and get moved in – AAAAGGGGGHHHHHH!!!! I keep saying that we are taking off the whole month of October to do this, but now I’m already bacpedalling on that due to the shell restoration backlog, and now I’m thinking December instead – although being able to store things outside overnight, like lumber, would make October the better choice.

And so for the past 11 months, I have been reluctant to clean the shop because we are moving out “soon”… Now, we straighten up about 3 times every day, but we used to do what I call a “SURGICAL CLEANING” 2-3 times a year. Since it’s been 11 months, it’s getting REAL messy in there and I don’t like that mess in the pictures…

Well, last week while I was away, we finally hit the breaking point, and Brent did the surgical cleaning – we had to. It’s still tight in there and kind of cluttereed with body panels and machines, but it is clean again.

SO – I promise to start taking more photos, the shop is clean, and many things are getting wrapped up. Then once the Summer wraps up next week and I am no longer a road-warrior going back and forth between the two houses, we’ll start the next “season” of Jag repair, and there will be LOTS of eye candy – I promise! – Chuck
